MITOS aims to improve second-grade science learning by using a bilingual app to build vocabulary, engage families, and connect home and classroom learning, while generating evidence on effective, culturally responsive science instruction.
The eTEN Assessment is a semi-adaptive test that assesses numeracy for children 3-8 years old. The assessment uses an engaging format with game-like activities and is available in English and Spanish. In this project, we are recruiting school districts to support data collection among their Pre-K through third grade students. Participation involves having our data collectors visit a sample of classrooms to conduct one-on-one math assessments with students who have parental consent. Data collection is expected to take four to six weeks during the 2026-2027 school year, and financial incentives are available for districts, principals, classroom teachers, and families who choose to participate.
Teaching with AI is a fully funded partnership opportunity that supports school districts in building educator capacity in using artificial intelligence (AI). Participating districts will receive no-cost professional learning tailored to real classroom needs. AIR will support implementation, evaluate the effectiveness of Teaching with AI, and lead a school-level randomized controlled design with funding from AIR’s National AI & Education Network. The study will take place during the 2026-2027 school year.
To purpose of the project is to build on the existing evidence of the effectiveness of the Second Step Middle School by evaluating the extent to which Second Step Middle School impacts student academic achievement, behavior, and well-being.
The American Institutes for Research® (AIR®) is partnering with school districts to study and strengthen the coherence of digital math products with the Illustrative Mathematics® core curriculum.
